*Only declined applicants for the extended COVID-19 SRD Grant may lodge appeals.
The COVID-19 grant will only be paid until the end of January 2021. SASSA has determined a cut-off date for lodging appeals in respect of declined COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grants.
The purpose is to strengthen administrative controls in the management of this grant and to give effect to a conducive environment for accounting.
How To Apply For SASSA SRD Grant Appeal?
** Appeals can be lodged on https//srd.sassa.gov.za website or by sending an email to the covid19appeals [AT] sassa.gov.za e-mail address.
** All appeals will be considered, and appellants will be provided with feedback.
** Applicants that are aggrieved by the decision to decline their applications are requested to provide reasons why they think the SASSA decision was incorrect or provide a motivation when lodging their appeals.
** All appeals will be treated in a fair and transparent manner to ensure a high standard of administrative justice is maintained in the administration of grants.
Note :
Declined applicants who already lodged appeals need not re-apply nor re-appeal. SASSA will send them the outcome of their appeals through SMS. Appellants are requested not to send attachments when lodging their appeals.

4. Lapsing Of Care Dependency Grant On 31 December 2020
All Care Dependency Grants where the child turned 18 in the period February – December 2020 have lapsed, with December being the last month of payment. Care givers of these young people may apply for the Care Dependency Grant on behalf of the previously confirmed care dependent child.
To apply, care givers must bring :
** ID document of the child
** Proof of address
** Proof of income and assets
** Three (3) months bank statement
** ID document of care giver
** Latest medical information about the care dependent child
Do not bring care dependent children to the SASSA office.
