Criteria for Individual Membership :
** The Chartered Accountants (SA) Medical Aid Fund, established in 1951, is a distinctly different scheme “In a Class of its Own” – providing excellent cover, unmatched personal service and support and a real commitment to ensuring that we are here for our members.

** The benefits offered to its members surpass those of most open schemes, offering some of the richest, tailor-made, healthcare benefits with a holistic healthcare approach combined with an effective preventative wellness programme.

** CAMAF provides not only rich benefits but also gives comfort to its members owing to the fact that the Board of Trustees is made up of dedicated professionals who place a high value on good corporate governance while ensuring that the scheme retains healthy reserves.

CAMAF is a restricted medical scheme, thus membership is offered to a person who holds the qualification :
** Chartered Accountant (South Africa) [CA(SA)]; or
** Associate General Accountant (South Africa) [AGA(SA)]; or
** Professional Accountant (SA) and is a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA); or

** Chartered Certified Accountant and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); or
** Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) or Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

** Individuals who have passed part one of the SAICA qualifying exams, have a valid training contract and are registered to write the second part of the qualifying exam will also qualify as members on condition that proof of exam registration is provided on request.

Criteria For Firms

** Firms wishing to join CAMAF need to meet the definition of a Professional Accounting Firm as defined in the CAMAF rules.

** A Professional Accounting Firm is defined as “ an accounting or auditing Firm which provides any of the services provided from time to time by any of the major accounting or auditing Firms in South Africa (such firms being for example Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, SNG, etc.) or their Allied Companies and includes (without limiting the foregoing) accounting and secretarial services, auditing and assurance, corporate finance, financial management, forensic accounting, information technology, insolvency and business rescue services, insurance advisory services, management accounting, legal services, management consultancy, risk advisory and tax employees, shall qualify for membership.”

The required documents must accompany this application form :
** Identity document (s) or birth certificate (s) for the main member and dependant (s)
** Letter from institution where children are registered to study, if 21 and older
** Proof of guardianship in case of legal dependancy, e.g. court order
** Copy of marriage certificate (if applicable)

** Certificate of membership from previous medical aid/s
** Domestic Partnership form (if applicable)
** Proof of Income selecting First Choice and Network Choice e.g. payslip
** If you belong to a Firm please obtain your firm ID and region number from your Human Resources Department
