What is ARMSCOR External Bursary Scheme?
Armscor, the Armaments Corporation of South Africa, is offering bursaries to exceptional learners through the Armscor Bursary Scheme. The aim of the scheme is to address the critical science and engineering skills offered within Armscor. The bursaries will be awarded to learners from previously disadvantaged backgrounds who intend to study full time in the engineering and science fields of study. Last date of application is 26th February 2026.
Eligibility of ARMSCOR External Bursary Scheme
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
** South African Citizen
** Must be in financial need as demonstrated by proof of the combined income of the applicant’s guardian or parent(s) – gross annual salary of not more than R1 000 000.00
** Candidates must have an interest in working in the Defence industry
** Achieved levels of 5, 6, and 7 in Mathematics, Physical Science and English
** Studying or intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
** Studying or intend on studying at a recognised Public tertiary institute within South Africa
** Excellent academic Results
Armscor will be awarding bursaries in the following field of study:
** Aeronautical Engineering
** Biochemistry / Chemistry and Physics
** Electronics / Electrical Engineering
** Human Kinetics & Ergonomics Science
** Computer Science / IT / Cyber Security / AI
** Physics & Astrophysics
** Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
** Naval / Marine Engineering
