What is Volunteers?
Volunteers are individuals who willingly offer their time, skills, and services to THE PARTY without any financial compensation. They provide assistance in various areas, contributing to the party’s vision, mission, aims and objectives. The volunteer hereby confirm that he/she is performing services for THE PARTY without promise, expectation or receipt of compensation for services rendered,

Volunteer Opportunities
THE PARTY offers a range of volunteer opportunities in different structures, departments, or programs. These opportunities can include but are not limited to administrative support, event organising, fundraising, campaigning, program assistance, and mentoring.

Volunteer Requirements

Age Requirement:
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Commitment:
Volunteers are expected to commit to a predetermined schedule and fulfil their responsibilities on time. The volunteer hereby agrees to longer periods of service or/and training as prescribed by any legislation or policy documents enforceable in South Africa.

Training:
Volunteers may be required to undergo training sessions.

Background Checks:
Depending on the nature of the volunteer position, background checks may be required to ensure the safety and well-being of the public and other volunteers.

Performance:
Volunteers must perform their assigned tasks to the best of their abilities, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and appropriate behaviour.

Confidentiality:
Volunteers should respect the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained during their volunteer activities and refrain from disclosing it without proper authorization. The volunteer agrees to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to ensure all confidential information is protected.

Reliability:
Volunteers are expected to notify the Volunteer coordinator or his/her assigns in advance if they are unable to fulfil their volunteer commitments.

Effective communication with the public and fellow volunteers is essential. Volunteers should actively seek clarification, ask questions, and provide feedback when necessary.

Supervision and Support:
Volunteers will be supervised by the volunteer coordinator who has been assigned the duty by the Membership Officer, who will provide guidance, support, and regular feedback. Volunteers are encouraged to seek assistance or clarification from the volunteer coordinator when needed.

Recognition and Benefits:
THE PARTY recognizes the valuable contributions of its volunteers and may offer benefits such as certificates, to express gratitude for their efforts.

Code of Conduct:
Volunteers are expected to abide by the NATIONAL COLOURED CONGRESS membership code of conduct, which prohibits any form of discrimination, harassment, violence, or unethical behaviour. Violation of this code may result in termination of the volunteer relationship and/or membership.

Termination:
THE PARTY reserves the right to terminate the volunteer relationship at any time if there is a violation of policies, misconduct, or failure to fulfil volunteer responsibilities.

No Waiver:
Neither party waives any rights in invention or development lawfully possessed by it at the time of signing this Agreement. In addition, this Agreement does not imply any waiver of any rights or action under the patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, fair trade, or related laws. Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any term hereof.
