Eligibility of News24 #MyHomeSA Competition
The News24 #MyHomeSA Competition launched on 24 September 2026 and is open to all high-school learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Entrants are invited to create an original artwork that expresses their personal vision of South African identity, culture, and heritage.
How to Enter in the News24 #MyHomeSA Competition?
The competition forms part of News24’s broader commitment to celebrating the diverse stories and voices that make up the fabric of South African life, and to giving young people a platform to share what they love about their country.
“News24 loves SA. Why do you? What makes you get up every day and work towards a better tomorrow? We want to hear what the things are that make you fall in love with South Africa over and over again,” News24 editor-in-chief, Adriaan Basson, says.
Entering is simple. Create your original piece of art or design that captures the spirit of #MyHomeSA. Ensure your work is high-resolution and ready to upload. The competition is open from the start of Heritage Month, and all submissions must be received by the closing date at the end of September. Keep an eye on our platforms for the official announcement of the winners in October.
Prizes of News24 #MyHomeSA Competition
We are looking for creativity that pops! The winning entries will not only receive significant cash prizes to fuel their artistic journey, but will also secure a cash donation for their school’s art department. Furthermore, the winning designs will be featured on official News24 merchandise, giving you a platform to showcase your talent to the entire nation.
** The winning designer will receive R10 000 and a R10 000 donation to their school.
** The second prize winner will receive R5 000 and R5 000 for their school.
** The designer in third place will receive R3 000 and a donation of R3 000 to their school.
