PPC Imaginarium Sculpture Competition

It all comes together at the PPC Imaginarium, where talented, emerging artists have a career-launching platform that will give their dreams flight.

You can enter for up to three different categories, but may only submit only one entry per category.
Judges are looking for outstanding craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal, a balance between technical excellence and commercial appreciation, and a respect for the medium of concrete.

Who Can Enter

All work entered into this category must be produced by :
** Using PPC Portland cement as the main material.
** Participants who are 18 years or older.
** Any artwork submission must not be heavier than 100kg.

Entry Criteria

** Your online application should include a 250-word concept statement that expresses what the piece is, technical specs, reference images of the design and concept, sketches and photos or video

** The final physical product must be accompanied by a printed copy of your online entry profile

** The sculpture must not be larger than 150cm in any direction.
** Cement painted objects will not be allowed.
** The sculpture must be structurally sound.

** The sculpture must be the original artistic creation of the participating artist.
** The sculpture must be for sale and can only be purchased after PPC has exercised its option to purchase.
** Nationally selected sculptures must be available for exhibition for at least one year.

Prizes

Winner : The PPC Imaginarium Champion receives R100 000.
Sculpture Category Winners : R50 000 and entry into the auspicious gala exhibition.
Sculpture Runners-up : R15 000.

Mentorship :
All entrants receive invaluable learning experience and finalists will be mentored by influential South African creatives.

Judging Process

** The judges are looking for entries that demonstrate outstanding craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal, a balance between technical excellence and commercial appreciation, and fulfil a benefit for the end consumer.

** The names of the panel members will be announced upon confirmation.

** Finalists chosen during the regional judging process will proceed to judging by a national panel.
** Post-competition, participants may go on to reproduce their works as they see fit.
** Please note that the judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
