6. To promote ethical business, to repress malpractices and investigate any other illicit activities detrimental to the industry as a whole and to settle disputed points of practice.

7. To establish and enforce rules and a code of conduct for the regulation, maintenance and promotion of standards by Members, their management, employees, directors and agents in their dealings with each other and with third parties.

8. To take such action as may be necessary by legal or other processes, for the protection of rights including intellectual property rights, of Members or group of Members.

9. To consult and liaise with related bodies both on an international and national level, including chambers of commerce, trade and business and other mercantile and industrial bodies for joint action in the interests of Industry and commerce.

10. To try to ensure that the interests of the Members of the Industry are protected on a basis equivalent to that provided for other major record producers and manufacturers in the major markets of the world.

11. To enter into contracts on behalf of some or all of the Members to promote the common interests of such Members including in particular (and without limiting the generality of the foregoing) –

** Phono-Mechanical Licence agreements (otherwise referred to as PPD Agreements) with publishers of the Members to enable the Company to produce compositions for the benefit of such members; and

** Jukebox Licence Agreements with third parties on behalf of Members for the Mechanical reproduction rights in respect of their sound recordings.

12. To provide such services to Members for the administration and operation of such contracts; and

13. To act on behalf of Members in all criminal cases relating to or connected with, piracy of Records of any Members (and shall include the right to appoint agents to do so on behalf of the Company, if required).
