How To Apply For South Africa e-Matric e-Re-Issue?

If you have lost or damaged your original matric certificate, or you wrote matric in more than one examination sitting and you want to combine your credits to qualify for a National Certificate, i.e. Senior Certificate (SC) or National Senior Certificate (NSC), you may apply online through the e-Matric e-Re-Issue online service on www.eservices.gov.za.

To use the e-Re-issue online service applicants will have to first register as users on the e-Government Portal (www.eservices.gov.za).

Supporting Documentation

Electronic copies of the following supporting documents will be required during the online application process:

For lost or damaged certificates:
** An affidavit stating what happened to your certificate (i.e. if it is lost or damaged);
** The original national/ senior certificate (if it is damaged), this is not applicable if it is lost;
** A certified copy of your identity document (ID); and
** Proof of payment.

For combination of results:
** Your results from all examination sittings;
** A certified copy of your Identity Document; and
** Proof of payment.

Application Cost

** The cost for both a replacement certificate and combination of results is R141.00; payable via a bank/ATM deposit or EFT.
** These fees are valid from 01 April 2021 until 31 March 2022.

Timeline

It takes four to six weeks for a certificate to be issued. Applicants may use the reference number received during the online application process to keep track of their application.

e-Government Portal

You will need a Username and Password to use the Portal. So, if you have not registered before please click on the link: “Sign Up/Register”. You will need your ID number or Passport number (if you are a foreigner), your mobile number and email address to register. Once you have registered you can use the e-mail address and password you provided to Login and access the e-Services on the Portal.

The purpose of the e-Government Portal is to enable government services online, reduce the cost of accessing those services, streamline administrative processes, improve turnaround times, and strengthen accountability and responsiveness.

e-Services:
e-Services are online applications that enable citizens to consume available government services. You can browse available services under the e-Services menu tab. You will need your credentials to Login and consume these e-Services.

Additional Simplified Procedure

To apply for a South Africa e-Matric e-Re-Issue, you must follow these steps:
1. Go to the e-Government Portal (www.eservices.gov.za).
2. Register as a user if you are not already registered.
3. Once you are registered, log in and click on the “Education” tab.
4. Click on the “Matric e-Re-Issue” link.
5. Select the type of re-issue you require (lost or damaged certificate, or change of status).
6. Complete the online application form and attach the required supporting documents.
7. Pay the application fee using a credit or debit card.

The required supporting documents for a lost or damaged certificate are:
** An affidavit stating what happened to your certificate.
** The original national/senior certificate (if it is damaged), this is not applicable if it is lost.
** A certified copy of your identity document (ID).
** Proof of payment.

The required supporting documents for a change of status are:
** A certified copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable).
** A certified copy of your divorce decree (if applicable).
** A certified copy of your deed poll (if applicable).
** Proof of payment.

Note:
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. You will be able to track the status of your application online.

The processing time for e-Matric e-Re-Issue applications is approximately 4-6 weeks. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an email notification with instructions on how to download your new certificate.

Please note that the e-Matric e-Re-Issue service is only available for certificates issued after 2008. If you have a certificate issued before 2008, you will need to apply for a re-issue through the Department of Basic Education or your provincial department of education.

    I already applied for my lost matric certificate in March, but the application was only accepted in June. The telephone numbers are never answered. How do I get any response, as I need my matric certificate.
