NWU How To Apply NSFAS
Before you start your application, make sure you have the following ready :
1. Create a new Gmail account

2. Make sure you have your own cell 2 phone in hand before you start. You will receive a onetime pin on the phone that you will need while you are applying and everytime you enter.
3. Documents you need Make copies and certify the following documents :
** Your own identity Document.
** Identity Document of each household member including parents or legal guardian living in your house.
** Latest Grade 12 results.
** A letter from the school informing NSFAS that you have been exempted from school fees.
** Recent payslip, letter of employment, not older than three months, for each parent, or the person who supports you, or your guardian or yourself if you are employed.
** This includes any income received from SASSA grants, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), or any retirement, life, disability or other benefits paid as a lump sum or in monthly payments.
** Official pension slip or bank statement showing pension payment if your parents or the person who supports you or your legal guardian are retired.
** Death certificate if either of your parents is deceased.
** Divorce decree if your parents are divorced.
** If you are supported by someone who is not your parent or legal guardian, please provide an affidavit explaining the reasons.
** A SASSA letter if any of your family members are receiving a social grant
** If disabled – Doctor’s certificate

4. Scan the documents and store it on a USB flash drive. You will need to attach these documents to your application.
5. You will need 45-60 minutes to complete application
