The South African Post Office can’t renew your Motor Vehicle licence (SAPOMVL) if your car is registered in the following Provinces and/or selected districts in the following provinces:
1. Western Cape Province
2. Selected Districts in North West Province
3. Selected Districts in Mpumalanga

2. Login with your user details to continue with the application for your Licence Renewal
3. Complete the information as prompted by the system

Documents Required For SAPOMVL Motor Vehicle Licence Renewal
Following documents are requited for SAPOMVL Motor Vehicle Licence Renewal
If the vehicle is registered in your name:
1. Renewal Notice (MVL2) or Completed and signed ALV form (Application for Motor Vehicle Licence) that you can download for this site
2. Acceptable Proof of Identity: In the case of a person, one of the following identification is required: Clear and certified copies of:
** RSA ID Book / Smart Card
** Valid RSA Driving License
** Valid RSA Passport
** Valid Temporary RSA Identity Document
** TRNC (Traffic Register Number Certificate) issued to foreigners & non-profit organizations
** Must be accompanied by a valid passport, temporary permit or other document of identity issued by Home Affairs
3. Proof of address not older than three months old (Compulsory for KwaZulu- Natal Province). Acceptable proof of address:
** Bank statement
** Utility account
** Clothing, furniture, cell phone statement
** Medical aid statement
** Recent signed lease agreement
** Recent signed insurance policy agreement
** Councillor letter for a person residing in an informal area
Not Acceptable proof of address:
** SARS documents
** Lease agreements older than three months
** Policy documents older than three months
** Multichoice and Internet accounts
** Any invoices
** Any document received in the mail that is a once-off advert
** Councillor letter for a person residing in a formal area or township
If the vehicle is registered in a Company or Close Corporations’ name
1. Renewal Notice (MVL2) or Completed and signed ALV form (Application for Motor Vehicle Licence) that you can download for this site
2. Identity document of the proxy. Acceptable Proof of Identity: In the case of an appointed proxy, one of the following identification is required Clear and certified copies of:
** RSA ID Book / Smart Card
** Valid RSA Driving License
** Valid RSA Passport
** Valid Temporary RSA Identity Document
** TRNC (Traffic Register Number Certificate) issued to foreigners & non-profit organizations
** Must be accompanied by a valid passport, temporary permit or other document of identity issued by Home Affairs
3. One of the following company/close corporation documents is required:
** BRNC ( Business Registration Number Certificate)
** A founding statement or a certificate of name change
** A certificate of incorporation or name change
4. Appointment confirmation letter of proxy on the company letterhead
5. Proof of address of the company/close corporation not older than three months old (Compulsory for KwaZulu-Natal Province). Acceptable proof of address
** Bank statement
** Utility account

I paid for my trailer license renewal, there was an issue so I requested a refund. I’ve been waiting weeks now with no answer. Soooo frustrating, just do your job please!!
Hi guys, its been the same struggle with since FEB, I just got hold of them on facebook.
I am still waiting till today but I renewed my license disk on the 3rd of February 2022. Now I have more than 100 references sending them emails but no reply other than reference. Even if I coppy the previous reference they come with another reference. the onlything they good with is reference. Their system is crap and they should just refund us.
Paid on 02 Feb and the system declined renewal. Has anyone managed to get their money back. If so please guide us.
I payed R1969 on thw 2nd or March, I have send mail did there ticket system. Nothing. They do not answer mail or messages or anything. There is no way to contact them. I just want my money back. Is this a scam? I paid for my renewal on 1 February 2022 for a license that expired on 28 February. Despite numerous follow up mails, I cannot get a response so had to renew the license by another method. I am now faced with an uphill battle to get a refund. There is no contact number to phone. I am looking for a forum to report this as I believe it must be a scam.

I have the same, paid them 2706 for the disc’s a month ago, 14 emails and what’s ups ,nothing resolved. How can we sue them?

Terrible service. I have paid for the licence and now need to upload further documents. The website does not allow new documents to be uploaded. There is no reply when contacting help desk. I now have no idea how to get my licence delivered even though I have paid / Frustrated +++
I had a similar experience .I paid and cannot upload new docs and have had no feedback since.
Absolutely horrible service. Applied on the 26th of February for the renewal, have sent 21 emails to date, every time get a new ticket number with reference that I will be contacted shortly, it is now 9 days later, and still absolutely no response. The money was debited from my account, the tracking details were last updated 7 days ago, with the only response “out of office”

Paid in full for my renewal on the 3rd of Feb and I am still waiting after numerous queries logged. Now I see they have a new quote and want another R240? This after no feedback. This site is a scam.I went into the post office for assistance and nobody even had training or know what site I am referring to. Does anyone even look at all these complaints? I paid in full on the 4th February already and logged numerous complaints through the system with ZERO feedback. My next step is log a theft charge at SAPS.
Do not waste your time and money trying to use their online service. Go straight to their building. I’ve made an application and paid on the 10th of Feb, even today I did not receive my licence disc. They said it takes up to 3 days, it’s been 14 days now.
application and payment done on the 8th of Feb, it is now the 22nd and still not resolved. Took them a week to advise documents were not clear enough, uploaded new docs, now says requote done, what does that even mean?! No response from queries sent on their site and no-one answers the phone, do not use this service!
Absolutely terrible service. Waited over a week after providing all documents and payment just for the application to be declined for no valid reason. Resubmitted the same documents.
It’s going to take several weeks back and forth with extremely delayed communication. It’s almost like they are deliberately delaying the process for you to pay penalties for the license once it expires.
It is very sad the state of service delivery in South Africa.
You are much better off waiting in line in person.
