FAQ On Learning Liberated Scholarship
Frequently Asked Questions FAQ On UCT Online High School Learning Liberated Scholarship
What does a partial scholarship mean?
A partial scholarship includes 50% of the tuition fee for the duration of the scholarship awarded and 100% of the SACAI Grade 12 Examination fee. Partial scholarships make education more accessible to a diverse range of learners who may not afford the full tuition. This approach allows for more efficient distribution of financial aid, supporting a larger number of learners with the available funds. Partial scholarships also foster a sense of commitment among recipients to maintain academic performance, leading to higher success rates.
When do applications open/close?
Scholarship applications for entry into grades 8-11 open Monday 4 September 2023 and close at midnight Tuesday 31 October 2023. No late applications will be accepted.
Why are we not accepting Grade 12 learners?
We only offer scholarships to learners entering Grades 8 – 11 for the CAPS Curriculum which culminates in the NSC qualification. We currently do not offer scholarships to Grade 12 learners because of the demands, rigour and academic preparedness required for a successful completion of the important Matric year.
Does this apply to Adult Matric learners too?
No, the Learning Liberated Scholarships are only offered to high school learners entering Grade 8 – 11 on the NSC curriculum.
What happens if my application is unsuccessful?
If a learner does not receive a Learning Liberated Scholarship, the guardian will be informed of the decision via email. The guardian will have two options. Either they could continue with the regular NSC application process for a January 2024 enrolment or request a withdrawal of their application. It is important to note that all application and placement fees are non-refundable.
When will I hear if my application has been successful?
Applications will be continuously assessed against the scholarship eligibility criteria as soon as applications open on the 4th of September 2023. The final list of successful scholarship recipients will be announced in early December 2023.
