What is Thermo Fisher Scientific Phambili Trust Bursary?

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Phambili Trust Bursary is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible candidates pursuing tertiary education. The bursary covers tuition and living expenses, and additional expenses incurred during the applicant’s studies. The bursary will enable deserving candidates to pursue their academic goals without financial constraints, allowing them to reach their full potential. Last date of application is 15th April 2024.

Eligibility of Thermo Fisher Scientific Phambili Trust Bursary

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
** They must be black, as defined in the B-BBEE codes of good practice.
** They must come from an economically disadvantaged background and demonstrate financial need.
** They must be pursuing further education or acquiring skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at a South African tertiary institution.
** They should be under the age of 35.

** Copy of full academic record (including the latest available results) (if you are already studying at a University);
** Copy of final matric/national senior certificate results (if you have completed grade 12 and are entering your first year at a university);
** Proof of acceptance or registration by the tertiary institution;
** Tuition fee statement;
** Accommodation invoice/quotation (where applicable);
** Motivation letter as to why you should be awarded the bursary;
** Certified copy of your parent(s)/legal guardian(s) ID;
** Parent(s)/legal guardian(s) proof of income or unemployment (affidavit stating unemployment);
** Certified copy of a SASSA letter if any of your family members are receiving a social grant and are contributing to your household income;
** Proof of income or unemployment (affidavit stating unemployment)*; and
** Certified copy of a SASSA letter where the applicant is receiving a social grant (where applicable)*.
