Application :
The Unemployment Insurance Act and Unmployment Insurance Contributions Act apply to all employers and workers, but not to –
** workers working less than 24 hours a month for an employer;
** learners;
** public servants;
** foreigners working on contract;
** workers who get a monthly State (old age) pension; or
** workers who only earn commission.

Who Can Claim UIF Dependants Benefits?

Dependants cannot claim if the worker :
got benefits from :
** the Compensation Fund; or
** an unemployment fund (as defined in the Labour Relations Act);
** was suspended from claiming because of fraud.
** Spouses or life partners can claim when a worker dies.

Dependent children can claim only if :
** there is no spouse or life partner; or
** the spouse or life partner does not claim within 6 months of the worker’s death.

When must I claim :
** Dependants must claim within 6 months of the worker’s death.

Claiming Dependants Benefits :
** If dependants want to claim dependants benefits they must use the following steps:

Step 1: Get the documents ready
Before dependants can claim, they must get the following documents ready :
** dependant’s 13-digit bar-coded ID or passport;
** deceased’s 13-digit bar-coded ID or passport;
** form UI-19;
** marriage certificate (for spouses)
** lobola letter (for traditional marriages)
** affidavit (for life partners)
** birth certificates (for children)
** proof of schooling (for children between 21 and 25); and
** death certificate of the deceased.

Step 2: Go to the nearest labour centre
** Dependants must go to the nearest labour centre themselves and hand in the documents.
** Staff at the labour centre will assist them with all the processes and give them more information.
Step 3 :
** Follow all the instructions of the staff at the labour centre staff at the labour centre may ask dependants to visit the labour centre at certain times.
** Workers should do what they ask, or they may not be able to claim.

    I APPLY FOR MY UIF IN 23/10/2019 AND I SUBMIT ALL THE DOCUMENTS THEY ASK ME FOR INCLUDE THE PAYSLP BT STILL I DONT GET ANY PROPER UNSWER FROM THE DERPARTMENT MY NUMBER IS 0718137339/0736021774
