KwaZulu-Natal Herbarium Internships :

** KwaZulu-Natal Herbarium 2 x Three-month Internships available in Durban December 2016 – February 2017.

** The South African National Biodiversity Institute is offering two three month internships to support the work of the KwaZulu-Natal Herbarium.

** Applicants should be biological science students interested in gaining knowledge on taxonomy and herbaria.

** Enthusiastic students in their final year of study or graduates with a BSc degree or National Diploma in Nature Conservation/ Horticulture are urged to apply.
** No prior work experience is required.

** Good grades at university, the KZN Herbarium’s Techniques Course certificate and a keen interest in South Africa’s biodiversity will be advantages.
** The candidates must be prepared to work long hours on mounting and filing herbarium specimens.

Who is eligible to apply :
** We invite applications from students in final year of study or BSc or Diploma graduates.
** Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals.

Value of internship :
The monthly stipend offered is :
** Final year undergraduate = R4 500
** Diploma completed = R5 000
** Bachelors completed = R6 050
** No other benefits apply as this is an internship position.
