SAILI Scholarship

** Scholarship applications open today for current Grade 6 learners to apply for a 2018 high school scholarship in Cape Town.

** SAILI is one of the largest scholarship providers in South Africa providing maths and science focused scholarships to young people with a strong academic record.
** High Schools are carefully selected to provide the best results for moderate fees.

Families are invited to complete an initial application form if your child is :
** Currently in Grade 6
** Scored code 6 or 7 for Maths on the term 2 report

** Scored code 5, 6 or 7 for English on the term 2 report
** Have a family income of under R10 000 per month before deductions (no exceptions)
** Want to go to a high school that excels at Maths and Science and take maths and physics through to matriculation.

How to Apply

** Application forms are available from Katherine Morse at applysaili AT gmail.com or downloadable from Website.
** Applications can be sent to applysaili AT gmail.com or faxed to 086 219 3951.

** Please only send the one page initial application with no additional attachments.
** All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their initial application during October.
** First round testing will take place in late November.
** The first round test is a maths test based on Grade 6 subject content.

** Livingstone High School(Lansdowne Road, Claremont)
** Mondale High School(Portland, Mitchell’s Plain)
** Norman Henshilwood High School(Constantia Main Road, Wynberg)
** Rylands High School(Gatesville, Athlone)
** The Settlers High School(Settlers Street, Bellville)
** South Peninsula(Old Kendal Road, Diep River)
** Westerford High School(Main Road, Rondebosch)

Note :
** Applications close on 30th September.

Selection Process

** The SAILI selection process screens candidates for academic ability and financial need.
** Academically talented candidates are selected through a process beginning in November of Grade 6.
** Two rounds of tests are conducted: the first round is a maths test; successful candidates go through to the second round, which tests categories such as literacy, logic, creativity and science.

** Gross family income must be below R10 000/month to qualify, and each student’s financial need is verified through documentation.
** Final selection is made by February of Grade 7, ensuring that successful learners are in time to apply for high school places at partner high schools.

** The scholarship starts in Grade 8, at the point of natural transition to high school.

    Let me know if there is any scholarship for students who excel in Maths and science for grade 10(2018).
