How To Apply For Study Permit?
** Apply to the South African Embassy, High Commission, Consulate or Trade Office for a Study Permit
** Once you have a letter from the institution offering you a place.
** Acceptance by an institution does not place any obligation on the South African government to issue or renew Study Permits.
** The permit currently costs R425, and must be renewed annually.
** This price will rise from 1 April 2008.
** Registered refugees and asylum seekers and others with Residence Permits allowing them to study do not require Study Permits.

1. I did change of mind but my status does not change what the point of paying that 135 if they won’t change my status because its still appeared the old one choices which were regretted this is not far cap need to fix this coze we loosing spaces in institutions. The fact that they now give our details to colleges who said that I want to attend to colleges and I don’t think that someone who obtained 33 points deserve to be treated that way. Please fix up your issue spaces are limited in institutions.
2. I have passed Matric with Bachelor in 2018 with my application it was saying waiting for decision, I decided to go for an upgrade in 2019. My points was remains the same but in June, there was an improvement. My intention was to study in the universities not in the private college,why my applications is mostly regretted because in the universities do accept diplomas. Now I am at home with my bachelor. I don’t know, what I need to be done for consideration.
3. I filled the form at DUT early and they said I must wait for the SMS. Till now I am waiting. How long should it take? I need to change about Residence, the status says I do not need the red of which I do need the Residence because I do not have the place to stay.

Additional Generic Procedure
To check the status of your application to a university or college through the Central Applications Office (CAO), you can follow these steps:
1. Go to the CAO website at https://cao.ac.za/.
2. Click on the “Check My Application” tab.
3. Select and enter one of the following:
CAO Number: This is the number that you were given when you applied through CAO.
ID Number: This is your South African ID number.
Passport Number: This is your passport number, if you are an international applicant.
4. Click on the “Submit” button.
The CAO website will then display the status of your application. The status will be one of the following:
Application received: Your application has been received by CAO.
Application in progress: Your application is currently being processed by CAO.
