Economics of Social Policy bursary :

NRF sponsored Research Chair in the Economics of Social Policy bursary :
** R40 000 for one year of full-time study
** Only for South African citizens / permanent residents

** Minimum of 60% for third-year Economics
** May not be held simultaneously with another NRF scholarship/bursary/grant or with any other bursary/scholarship that is contractually binding

Special Economics bursary :
** Maximum of R25 000 for one year of full-time study
** Only for previously disadvantaged (Black, Coloured, Indian) South African citizens
** Minimum of 70% for third-year Economics

About Us :
Economics as a science, originally referred to as Political Economics, was founded during the second half of the eighteenth century. However, it was established as an academic subject at most Western universities only in the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
