University of Johannesburg Registration

You are welcome to register from 07 January 2019 until 01 February 2019 for your qualification from anywhere using your tablet/handheld device or any other computer facility at your disposal.

Important Dates

** Please note that there will be No Facilities Available For On-Campus Assisted Registrations.

All students will have to register online and offsite from 07 January until :
New Students : 25 January 2019
Returning Students : 01 February 2019

** Popular qualifications will only be available for registration until 18 January 2019 (List of popular programmes)
** Only First Year students will need to come onto campus to collect their student cards.

** In order to gain access to campus you will need your printed proof of registration and an ID or driver’s license.

** Access cards for senior students will be automatically activated after registration.

** If you are under the age of 18 on 07 January 2019, you and your parent/guardian should sign This Agreement Form and submit this completed form to the Faculty during the First Year Seminar.

How To Register?

Follow all the necessary steps and you should be finished in five minutes!
Step 1 : Log onto the registration portal via ulink.uj.ac.za using your Student Number and Password or use the QR Code below.

Step 2 :If you do not have a password, click on CREATE A PASSWORD to continue.

** Enter Student Number and Enter Your RSA ID Number. Click on Submit Button.

 

Step 3 : Click on Online Registration And Payment and then Registration to start the registration process.

Step 4 : Work your way through all the processes listed on the left. Please verify your contact details.Read the Academic Registration Rules or Agreement and click on I ACCEPT to be able to continue with Online Registration. Verify your registration statuses. If you are not allowed to continue with online registration

Step 5 : Click on Cheque and Credit card payment to make a payment.

** All outstanding fees from prior years need to be paid PLUS The Minimum registration payment – R3 870.00
OR
** The Minimum registration payment –R6 470.00 (Residence students).

Step 6 : Click on Submit Registration to confirm your qualification to be registered for.

Step 7 : Enter your Employment Status And select whether you are responsible for your own account. If not supply the third party information requested. Click on Save And Continue.

Step 8 : Select your combination of modules to be taken and click on Save And Proceed. Verify the modules you plan to Register for and click On Continue.

Step 9 : Verify your Registration Cost and click On Accept Registration. Print your PROOF OF Registration.

Step 10 : After you have finalised your registration, please collect your student card at your relevant campus as soon as possible. Remember to print your class timetable on the student portal.

Step 11 : Click on Add / Cancel Subjects To A Registration if you want to add extra subjects to your current registration or cancel subjects. NSFAS approved students have to click on the NSFAS Allocation folder to start the NSFAS contract process.

Admission Status

Applicants Currently In Grade 12 :
** You will receive a notice to access the First Year Seminar programme and/or Registration Information.
** It is important to note, that this does not mean that you have been fully admitted for studies in 2019.

** UJ will receive the final Grade 12 results from the Department of Education in early January 2019.
** Once we have finalised our final selections, we will inform you of your admission status by sms/email.

** Should you not have received an SMS or email by Saturday 12 January 2019, please verify your admission status online at student.uj.ac.za/status.aspx or contact our call centre on (011) 559 4555.

Payments

All students, including students whose fees are paid by sponsors or employers, have to pay the following minimum amounts :

Full-time/part-time :
** Tuition fees only – R 3 870.00
** Tuition and Residence fees – R 6 470.00
** Please keep proof of payments for at least two (2) years.

** No refunds will be approved without it.
** In addition no refunds will be made during the month of January 2019.

** Students presenting a bank deposit slip as proof of payment, will be required to have made the payment at least 5 working days prior to the registration date. Students who do not comply with these requirements will not be able to complete the registration process until the payment reflects on the student account.

Payment Methods

Credit card :
** Credit card (E-payments) will reflect on your UJ student account immediately.
** For online E-payments please use the following link ulink.uj.ac.za/index.html

Bank Deposit :
** FNB Bank deposit payments will reflect on your UJ student account within 15 minutes.
** Students who make payments at FNB branches must ensure that their names and student numbers are clearly written in block letters on the deposit slip.
** Please file the deposit documentation in a safe place.

ATM :
** ATM payments will reflect on your UJ student account within 15 minutes.
** Use any FNB ATM that can accept cash.
** Select the cardless services option on the ATM.
** Deposit the cash.
** FNB Recipient Name – key in UJ and then space.
** Select UJ tuition fees account

Debit Cards :
** Debit cards are only accepted if you pay in person at the UJ Student Finance Divisions available on each campus.

Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT’s) :
** EFT’s must be made 72 hours before the registration period closes to ensure that the payment reflects on your UJ student account.
