Adolescent Peer Supporter

** We are looking for Adolescent Peer Educator to promote healthy behaviours and prevent risk behaviours in adolescents through the implementation of targeted interventions at individual, healthcare facility and community level, to improve uptake of HIV-testing and linkage to treatment.

Key duties & Responsibilities :
** Provide health education, with Anova/DoH teams, to adolescents
** Participate in outreach campaigns to reach adolescents and distribute IEC material in the facility and the community.
** Improve access and uptake of HTS and linkage to care by adolescents

** Improve retention in care and virological suppression
** Create a safe space for adolescents to discuss social and health-related issues affecting them
** Assist with transitioning adolescents to adult services

** Provide Support to Adolescent and Youth Friendly Service Provision (AYFS)
** Serve as a link between adolescents, local clinics, CBOs and other health services within the community.
** Maintain records for clients supported to HCT, tested, tested HIV positive, linked into care, etc.

Essential Qualifications & Experience :
** Grade 12
** Local youth between 19 and 24 years of age

** Currently unemployed and not engaged in formal education
** Experience in public speaking and previous leadership roles an advantage
** Good Facilitation and Report writing skills

** Good problem solving skills
** Punctual, Reliable and Organised
** Knowledge and experience in engaging with adolescents

** Excellent Interpersonal and mobilising Skills
** Prior knowledge of HIV/AIDS and a recognised HIV counselling certificate would be a distinct advantage.
** Able to conduct life skills and HIV/AIDS-related discussion groups

Technical Advisor – Psychosocial Support

** We are looking for a Technical Advisor who will develop and implement activities aimed at strengthening psychosocial support for PLHIV including scale up of HIV testing, care and support for children & adolescents in and outside DoH health facilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :
** Support implementation of HIV Programme, as outlined in the work plan
** Strengthen referral linkages within the health systems, especially between health facilities and CBO’s in partnering with other organisations, Anova and DoH staff

** Oversee the implementation of the KidzAlive (KA) model, National Adherence Strategy as well as adolescent support groups within the facilities and Anova staff
** Support DoH/Anova counsellors and clinicians to conduct paediatric case-finding at adult, adolescent and paediatric antiretroviral (ART) sites
** Provide adherence support for patients at high risk of treatment failure

** Identify training needs within the organisation and the DoH facilities
** Attend to stakeholders meetings including facility/sub district management meetings
** Manage Social Auxiliary workers, Counsellors, and provide support to the Linkage Officers

Essential Qualifications & Experience :
** Degree in Social Science or relevant health related qualification
** Registration with the relevant South African Council or Professional Body

** At least 5 years of experience working in Paediatric and/or HIV programmes, including supervising Social Auxiliary workers or other junior staff
** Training in I-ACT and NAS (National Adherence Strategy) and KidzAlive
** Good presentation and excellent communication skills

** Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
** Good report writing skills
** Proficiency with MS Office

WBOTs Coordinators

** We are looking for Project Coordinators who will facilitate and implement the ward-based outreach teams (WBOTs) programme and ensure full implementation of the 90-90-90 activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :
** Facilitate programme buy-in and support at sub-District and facility level
** Conduct mapping of WBOTs and referral systems to inform programme planning and community testing activities
** Facilitate weekly and monthly planning with sub district WBOTs operational manager for programme planning and feedback

** Facilitate defaulter tracing by WBOTs at community level
** Facilitate integration of WBOTs at facility level
** Support community testing by working with HTS team and WBOTs
** Ensure that community health workers and team leaders are trained on WBOTs

** Provide on-going mentoring and support to WBOTs operational managers and team leaders
** Coordinate and communicate with NGOs, other developmental partners and DoH at the sub-District working on community health systems strengthening (HSS) activities

** Compile monthly reports on monthly programme activities and work plan targets and report to project manager
** Attend stakeholder and sub-District management meetings and report on programme activities

** Facilitate together with operational manager and team leader ad-hoc audits on CHWs data collection tools and reporting tools and support development of quality improvement plans
** Track 90-90-90 project activities and report on monthly outputs

** Monitor data flow on defaulter tracing at facility and report on progress/successes and challenges
** Strengthen reporting and support the implementing of data collection activities for routine project monitoring reporting

Essential Qualifications & Experience
** Nursing qualification or a degree in Social Science
** At least 3 years’ experience in working at a clinic (PHC or CHC)

** Knowledge and experience in primary healthcare re-engineering
** Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
** Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with people at all levels in the organisation
** Ability to travel within Johannesburg health district

** Excellent communication and report writing skills
** Proficiency in MS Office
** Post graduate degree, such as an Honours or Master’s in Public Health, would be an added advantage.
