COIDA Registration can be finalised within a maximum of 5 working days, guaranteed! We can also Assess (submit) your Returns of Earnings to obtain your Letter of Good Standing from COIDA.

Why must my business be COID Registered?
COIDA Registration is a requirement for ALL employers. The “Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act” or “COID Act” states that all South African persons (individuals / companies) who employ one or more employees, in connection with their business / farming activities, organisation / association / trust are under the scrutiny of the COID Act. Employees will be covered for injuries whilst on duty.

Requirements

** Company Registration Documents (lost yours?) (need to register a Company?)
** Certified copies of the ID’s of the directors of the company / CC
** COID Application form (which will be emailed to you apon submitting our online application form)

Application Process

(1) COID Offices :

(2) Start using your COID Registration Number :
Our COID Department will ensure your COID Registration is successful in the quickest possible time frame. Your Coid Registration Number will be made available via email enabling you to start trading immediately.

(3) Notice of Assessment :
Apon successful COID Registration, you will receive a “Notice of Assessment” from the Compensation Fund, which is payable directly into the account of the Compensation Fund.

This payment will cover your business for Workman’s Compensation. You will then be able to apply for your Letter of Good Standing.

(4) Letter of Good Standing :
You will be able to apply for a Letter of Good standing at the Compensation Fund, once your business is COID registered and your “Notice of Assessment” has been paid.

Advantages

(1) Employer Protection :
If any employee gets injured on duty; or becomes sick with ‘Occupational Diseases’, the employer will be protected against civil claims.

Most contracts and tenders require that the company needs COID Registration before he / she can apply for any contracts / tenders. For example when you are starting a Construction Company or a Cleaning Company.

(2) Employee Protection :
Employees who get injured on duty or those who contracted occupational diseases can claim compensation for temporary or permanent disablement. These claims will be awarded according to the degree of disablement or death by the Department of Labour.

They will also be covered for reasonable medical aid expenses arising out of an injury on duty. This compensation is payable for a period of two (2) years or longer if further medical treatment is needed and if it will reduce the extent of disability.
