Umhlathuze Payment Service
e-uMhlathuze is the preferred method of making a payment in a simple and secure way to the e-uMhlathuze Metropolitan Municipality from the comfort and convenience of your home or office.
Use our instructed debit pull or make payment directly from within Standard Bank Internet Banking using the MyBills option or Nedbank Internet or Mobile banking using the MyeBills option.
There are numerous benefits including
** You will receive an immediate confirmation of the payment instruction via the service followed by a proof of payment and payment receipt once the payment has been confirmed successful by your bank.
** This proof of payment is saved in your payment history and is available to you and the Municipality to view in the event of any payment related issues/disputes.
** Payments made via are reconciled and allocated against your account, eliminating any possibility of incorrect allocations or lost payments.
** Payments made via other facilities can take up to 14 days to reflect on your municipal account whereas this delay is removed for payments made via e-uMhlathuze, eliminating the risk of unwanted actions by the Municipality.
Choose the bank account you wish to pay from and instruct the payment. Your account will be debited with the instructed amount and you will receive notification once the payment has been confirmed successful by your bank. Your payment is allocated to your account and will reflect on your next statement.

1. How do I pay my account?
Currently e-uMhlathuze caters for the following methods
** Payment via once off user instruction from any bank (ABSA, FNB, Nedbank, etc.)
** If you are a Standard Bank or Nedbank Customer, you can pay your uMhlathuze bill directly from within Standard Bank or Nedbank Internet Banking. To use this facility, click here for instructions.
** Mobile payments – Use your cellphone to make a payment. Type in your cellphone number to use it together with your linked debit/credit card. If your debit/credit card is not registered, registration will take place on your phone.

2. Can I use my credit card to make payments via the e-uMhlathuze service?
** Credit card payments are currently only supported using the mobile payment facility.
** Currently you can use most South African-issued Master or Visa credit cards and any Standard Bank, ABSA or Nedbank debit or cheque card, as long as it has an ATM PIN.
3. I am an agent. What facilities are available to me?
** You can either register your client as a user under your profile or, if they have already registered, access your clients account and conduct all of the regular functions on your clients behalf (as per your own agreements and privacy policies with your client.)
4. Will the information held for my clients be secure?
The e-uMhlathuze site deploys the very latest data encryption technologies available. e-uMhlathuze will take all reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed by you secure, if and when such information needs to be passed on to City of uMhlathuze or any of the banking institutions.
