WSU Student Online Services Portal
WSU has created a Student Services Portal that enables a student to access personal particulars, academic reports, results and fees statements online.
You can print reports like your proof of registration and fees statements. If you need an official stamped report like academic records, you need to visit the office rendering this service.
How To Access Student Services?
You need your student number and a PIN to use this service.
First-Time Entering Student Registration:
The registration date for First-Time Entering Students is extended from 5 March 2021 to 12 March 2021. All admitted students are urged to make use of this opportunity and ensure that they register. Online guiding instruments on how to register are on the University website. Campus-based, face-to-face assistance has been made available to students who wish to access computer labs for registration.
Space Application to Study at WSU & Qualifications Choice Options:
The University online application process is still open but strictly applies to the advertised programmes on the University website. Through this decision, an opportunity to increase chances of admission at WSU is created by having more qualification choice options. All prospective students are advised to make use of this advantage.
Suspension of the G7 Rule:
The G7 Rule is suspended with no conditions attached as a direct response to all COVID-19 unintended consequences that may have inhibited students’ academic performance. This decision sets no precedent but is meant to facilitate the sensitive transition from the effects of the pandemic to the new normal of the 2021 Academic Year.
Online Registration Registration Financial Block:
The online registration financial block remains active in the system and the responsibility rests on a student to make sure that his/her funder follow all the necessary protocols to confirm with the University that the student is funded for the 2021 Academic Year. This applies to both First-Time Entering and Returning Students.?
Scheduling of 3rd Examination:
A 3rd examination opportunity is approved and scheduled to be written from 23 March 2021 to 29 March 2021. Faculties are expected to formulate and publish time-tables and where applicable, work together with Campus-based Examination Departments.

Walter Sisulu University (WSU) was established on 1 July, 2005 through a merger of the former Border Technikon, Eastern Cape Technikon and the University of Transkei. WSU is a comprehensive university established in terms of the Higher Education Act No. 101 of 1997, as amended.
The transformation of higher education in South Africa began in 2002 and was completed in 2005. The previous 36 South African universities and technikons were reduced to 23 through mergers and incorporations. Since then, three new universities have been established by the Department of Higher Education & Training.
