Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) On Woolworths

How can I pay?
You can pay for your order with any Mastercard or Visa credit card, as well as Woolworths Store Cards, Woolworths Credit Cards and Woolworths Gift Cards. Unfortunately we cannot accept American Express, Diners Club, or payment on delivery.

Please note:
Some Debit Cards will allow you to make purchases on our website, but you may find that an outstanding authorised amount appears on your account statement for some time after delivery of your purchases. We are working on a solution to this. Please contact our customer service centre for more information.

Can I pay in a foreign currency with my credit card?
Yes. Our payment processor will accept a non-South African credit card; you will automatically be billed in your credit card statement with the equivalent value in your currency.

How will I be refunded for items bought online?
Your refund will be given against the original payment card as specified on your proof of purchase (your online dispatch note serves as your proof of purchase). For example, if you paid online with a credit card, the Woolworths store which handles your refund will process your refund to a credit card. In the event of a gift return, or no proof of payment being available, you will be refunded via a Woolworths gift card. Please note that we cannot make cash refunds for items purchased online.

How do I cancel an order?
Allow us to help you with this, please contact us for assistance on shop AT woolworths.co.za. Remember to include your order number.

What happens if items are missing from the delivery but listed on the invoice?
This should not happen. You delivery invoice should reflect exactly what has been delivered. Please contact us and we will rectify this.

1. Customers don’t use woolworths online services, if anything goes wrong they don’t care about the inconvenience it cause you as a loyal customer. They give robotic responses and no one takes accountable for errors and definitely does nothing to remedy the situation.I have requested 3x for a manager to call me.There after sales services sucks.

2. Excellent service from Sinethemba Zulu at Woolworths, Honeydew Village, Gauteng. This employee needs to be recognised for her excellent service. Very few employees regard customer service as a necessity, however, this employee is an asset to WOOLWORTHS.

3. I purchased a set of bras and only one was delivered. I contacted them and they said they can’t find the missing bra so, they will refund me. Its been weeks and nothing has happened. Contacted them several and every time its excuses. I will never use Woolworths online again.

    Today I wanted to return 2 pairs of shoes to Cradlestone. I forgot my slip, which I have at home and was treated like a criminal because I also forgot my bankcard and storecard together with the slip. As a VIP client I was shocked at how I was treated.I tried to go on my banking app to show her in my bank account that I made the payment. The signal at the bottom floor was bad. She suggested that I must use the Woolies wifi so that she could see in my bank. At that point I replied that she treat me like a criminal and that I was very anoid with her and that I must go and pick my grandkids up at school and cant waste any more time. She then returned the shoes and I left. She even walked after me untill I reached the door. I was so shocked and sad. I had to leave with the shoes and will return to Key west tomorrow with the slip. This is totally unexceptable and I think Woolies lost a client for good. I always said I am a Woolies girl only.

    Good Day

    I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed.
    I when to go check my credit report and says my account in arrears.

    First of all I never missed payments on my store account.I have credit card and that updated correctly on the credit bureau. Both gets paid on same time.

    I would like this to be fixed immediately otherwise legal action will be taken. It’s very hard to have good credit score and then you get this rubbish my score dropped by 10 points.

    I’ll like to get feedback ASAP.

    Good day, two weeks ago I was shopping at Woolworths Cradle Stone Mall I asked the lady if I could have paper bags instead of the re-usable ones which was not a problem, today 28/7/2023 I was at Woolworths Cradle Stone Mall again doing grocery shopping I asked for the paper bags again and was refused according to the lady at the till it is used for clothing only! surely as a customer I have a choice which bags I would like to use the cost of the paper bag is R1-75 the re-useable is R7-50 this is unacceptable that this is forced onto me we should have a choice!!!! times are tough. Please make sure that we have the option to choose our bags paper or re-usable.

    it is exceptionally frustrating, time consuming and airtime wastage just trying to get through to you. My monthly debit order is in line with my income date. What gives you the right to debit my account prior to that date just because it falls on a weekend? This causes financial disparities on my account, having to pay my bank unpaid debit orders. with immediate effect call me as it gobbled up ALL of my airtime to try and get through to you.

    I am not happy with service I received from the financial services. I have been trying to get my name cleared from an account I have a confirmation letter that I fully paid off over 3 years ago. This account is still on my credit profile and no one is giving me any feedback or way forward on what is going on. I have sent several emails of which they have all been promising to get back to me within 24 hrs which has become a month now with no solution.

    i have applied for a credit card and received an email saying that i was successful and that my card will be couriered to me. untill today i have not received anything. i phoned the courier company and they said they do not have a record of my card. please can you investigate and get back to me. i am very disappointed with the service. please treat this as an urgent inquiry.

    call center agents are not good, being trying for 2 days to trace my credit card, and wait on the line speak to someone and wait and wait and wait than you hear nothing for 3 minutes and that is that. phone again today the same happened, what a terrible service, indeed someone to please call me and sort out this query, I m very disappointed with your service

    Maybe you can follow the way Checkers packed their salads, I brought chicken wings, meatballs salads and others ready to eat, the cover is very poor quality and break open even before you get home. Taste wise I have no problem, just very poor packages. It is not a complain as I enjoy shopping at Woolworths. Thank You

    I’m so happy about the service I got yesterday 17-07-2022 from Woolies Crowthorne … so what happen Mokgadi was the Lady that was helping me and than the Lady called Amanda she came to me and ask if she can I help me , I think cause she saw that I’m pregnant it was hard for me to unpack from the trolley so she helped than I said I forgot to take something she asked me what is it I told her I need honey she went and get it for me .Amanda was amazing I don’t wanna lie I’ve never received such a good customer service in Woolies before And she was even telling me about the specials … I won’t understand how happy I was l felt special Thank you Amanda

    I bought a mens pure marino wool Jersey a few years ago and have made several complaints and got know where. The Jersey is a David Jones codes on the label is 11505 151 0216 another code 503196684 . The Jersey price was almost R400 and just started falling to pieces as the time goes by. I would appreciated some response to this as the quality is disgusting and I should get a refund. I am and currently am a Woolworths customer. I do grocery and clothing shopping and makeup regularly. I am very disappointed. I need a reply or a head office number to make this complaint. Just a few weeks ago had awful food served at the Norwood Woolworths Coffee Shop.     Woolworths Game City, Botswana has a terrible service ever. Their service was slow on the 28/05/2022 yet they was a lot staff idling in the store, they were not even apologetic when the customers complaint of their poor service.

    I have phoned 3 times this morning to your customer care line to query my account.
    Each time I got through and then cut off mid conversation. I was never asked my name or contact details so the operator could have perhaps got back to me once the call was dropped.
