What is Santam Card?
Get settlement from claims paid directly onto your Santam card. All personal non-motor claims settlements will be paid into the Santam card, making the claims process quick and easy. The card expires after five (5) years, and you will be provided with a replacement just before the old one expires.

How Santam Card Cash-Backs Work?
** Your card can only be used to make purchases.
** If you choose to purchase your goods at one of our preferred suppliers, you will qualify for a cash-back, usually within the month after you made your purchase.
** Cash-backs are credited to your Santam card and you are notified by SMS of this credit.
** If you again spend this at one of our preferred suppliers, you will qualify for a further cash-back.
** Please note that you will not qualify for any in-house discounts offered at point of sale at our preferred suppliers.

How long is the Santam card valid?
The card expires after five (5) years, and you will be provided with a replacement just before the old one expires.
What are the costs of this Santam card?
There are no costs associated with your normal use of this card. However, balances not spent two years after being loaded will be subject to a R10 monthly dormancy fee deduction.
What happens to unused portions of my claims pay out on the Santam card if I don’t spend it?
The unclaimed balance remains on the card until you spend it or if the card expires we will issue a new card and transfer funds from the old card to the new card.
What do I do if my personal details change?
Please advise us immediately if any of your contact details change. We need to keep you informed of the status of your policy and cover. You can contact the Santam Personal Lines call centre on 0860 726 826 to change your contact details.

Additional Simplified Procedure
The Santam Card is not an individual credit card you can directly apply for, but rather a benefit card linked to your existing Santam insurance cover for certain personal non-motor claims. So, the process of getting access to a Santam Card depends on your current insurance situation:
If you already have a qualifying Santam insurance policy:
1. Automatic Activation:
Once your claim for eligible personal non-motor insurance (like home contents, personal liability, etc.) is processed and paid out, your Santam Card will be automatically activated within 5 working days. You don’t need to take any further action.
2. Check Activation Status: If you haven’t received your card or want to confirm its activation, you can:
** Download the Santam Client App and check under the “Santam Card” tab.
** SMS: Send your ID number or passport number with the last 4 digits of your policy number to 34246. You’ll receive an SMS with your balance and card activation status.
** Call the Card Queries Call Centre on 0861 10 12 10.
** Visit the “What’s on my card?” website
If you don’t currently have a qualifying Santam insurance policy:
1. Get a Santam policy:
You can choose from various personal non-motor insurance products offered by Santam, like home contents, personal liability, and more. Contact Santam directly or visit their website for quotes and policy details.
2. Claim Activation:
Once you have a qualifying policy and make a claim that gets paid out, your Santam Card will be automatically activated within 5 working days.
