How To Apply For CPUT Admission?
Applications for Undergraduate Studies 2026. The 2026 applications will open on Monday, 12 May 2025. All applications must be submitted online (except otherwise indicated on this website).

Step-1: Choose a qualification

Our Programmes:
We offer more than 70 career-focused programmes. The documents and links below will help you choose the programme that’s right for you. The Prospectus booklet and pamphlets contains the admission requirements for all the programmes presented at CPUT, as well as general admission information, qualification structures, and details about where each programme is presented. Prospective students are encouraged to check the subject and mark requirements of the programme they want to study before applying. Also note that the full acceptance to the programme will be based on the Final Grade 12 results.

All applications must be submitted online (except otherwise indicated in the list of programmes)

Step-3: Check for the additional requirements (additional supporting documentation that is required for some specific programmes)
Step-4: Check the format that you are required to prepare, save and submit the supporting documentation during your online application
Important notes on online documentation submissions:
** All applications must be submitted online (except otherwise indicated in the list of programmes)
** Advanced Diploma will be displayed under Postgraduate studies on the self-service platform.
** Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a place, as the University has a specific number of places as approved by the Department of Higher Education and Training and is subjected to a selection process.
** CPUT reserves the right to verify documents for authenticity
** Prepare your supporting documentation that is required and save before you submit your online application.
Take note of the following important information:
** All documentation must be certified (certification may not be older than 3 months)
** Please ensure that all uploaded documents are less than 2 MB in size, and in JPEG, PDF, TIFF or GIF format.
** Save the documents separately
** Please do not upload documents saved in MS Word or MS Excel format
** Save each document separately in above formats.
Step-3: Get an application form (manual application only)
All applications must be submitted online. Regretfully no manual applications will be processed including those submitted via post or over the counter. Should you still require a manual application form, please submit your request to admissions@cput.ac.za or info@cput.ac.za

Important information:
** Are you sure that you have gathered and prepare all your supporting documentation including any additional documentation for some specific programmes?
** If you are not yet 18 of age, have you completed your signed minor declaration? Click here to access the information before commencing your online application
** Have you checked that you meet the minimum requirements for the programmes that you want to apply for? Refer to the Undergraduate Prospectus for more details. Click here to access the information
** No manual posted or over the counter applications will be accepted unless for those categories that cannot submit online and as outlined in Step 3: Get an application form here
** Please note that applicants are limited to three choices. (except for RPL – only one choice permissible).

Step 5: Follow-up and get your admission status
All applications are loaded onto the CPUT system. Once loaded onto the system, an sms will be sent to you acknowledging that the institution has received your application. Note, this is not an acceptance notice.
