How To Apply For NWU Admission?

Here is what you should do before applying to NWU:
What will I need before I can apply – minimum requirements?
** A valid, unique, and personal email address.
** You will need to register with this email address before you can apply. Your email address will also be used as your username and will be used to log in to your application profile after you have registered.
** You will also receive a temporary password at first and after you have changed it, you will always use your email address and new password to log onto your application profile.

Prepare the documents that you need to electronically upload:
** Keep your ID document and final Grade 11 or 12 results handy in digital format.
** The documents must be individually scanned as they are uploaded separately. Preferably available as PDF, jpeg, etc.
** For postgraduate applications, please also upload your research concept!

Now you are ready to first register to apply and then complete your application. Apply once per academic year: You can only apply once for the academic year. Choose up to two study options that align with your goals and interests.

How can I apply for residence placement?
Applications for residence placement open on 1 April and close on 31 August. Indicate your intention to apply for residence placement during your application for study. Once you have received a conditional offer, you can choose your top three residence preferences and complete your application.

What do I need to apply to NWU?
To create an application profile, use a valid and personal email address. This email will be your username for logging in. After you create your profile, you will receive a temporary password. Once updated, you will log in using your email address and the new password.

What documents do I need to upload with my application?

Can I change my course after I have applied?

Can I change my course if my application is unsuccessful?
No, you can only apply once per academic year. Carefully consider your two study choices to ensure that you meet the bachelor’s degree pass requirements, admission criteria, and that they align with your career goals.

If my second choice at NWU is accepted, can I still be considered for my first choice?
NWU’s admissions process only allows you to be accepted into one course of study. If your second choice is accepted, you will not be considered for your first choice.

What is the Closing Date of NWU Admission?

The application periods for the 2026 intake are as follows:

** Selection courses close: 30 June 2025
** All applications and residence placement applications close: 31 August 2025
