How To Apply For TUT Undergraduate Admission?
To apply for admission, visit www.tut.ac.za
Please Note:
** You must have all the required documentation at hand before going online.
** Create an email address before hand, do not use any other person’s email address.
** Your password must meet the following require- ments: at least six to 12 characters long – containing a mix of numbers, letters, one special character and one uppercase letter.
** First-year/undergraduate applications for the 2027 academic year open on 1 April 2026.
** The application deadlines are listed under each programme in this brochure.
** Please apply as soon as possible because a programme may close any time when it is full, even if the deadline has not yet passed.
Application Fee
** The application fee for the 2027 academic year is R240 (two hundred and forty rand).
** This fee is compulsory for all first-time applicants and is payable once only.
** The application fee is strictly non-refundable.
Required Documents
** Proof of payment – The application fee must be deposited at ABSA, Account Number: 04 000 000 3. Use your Identity Number as the reference.
** Certified copy of your Identity Document/Card
** Certified copy of your National Senior Certificate, or Final Grade 11 results if you are currently in Grade 12
Admission Status
To check your admission status, please follow the steps below:
1. Visit www.tut.ac.za
2. Click on “Study@TUT.”
3. Select “Check Your Status.”
4. Enter your ID number in the required field.
5. Click “Submit” to view your admission status.
A new screen will appear displaying your reference number. Your admission status will be shown, and you will have the option to view and print a copy of the available letter.

TUT has seven faculties offering more than 300 programme options:
** Faculty of Arts and Design
** Faculty of Economics and Finance
** Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment
** Faculty of Humanities
** Faculty of Information and Communication Technology
** Faculty of Management Sciences
** Faculty of Science, incorporating Natural Sciences, Health Sciences and Agriculture
Please Note:
1. Life Orientation and an achievement level of 1 in a subject are not consid-ered in the calculation of the Admission Point Score (APS).
2. Prospective students will not be admitted to any programme without prior evaluation.
3. TUT requires a National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum of six subjects, including English (home or first additional language with a minimum score of 3), Mathematics (Techni- cal Mathematics) or Mathematical Literacy (as per specific academic programme requirement) and the further subjects required by a specific academic programme.
4. Prospective students may apply on the basis of Grade 11 or mid-year Grade 12 results and may be granted provisional admission pending the final submission of Grade 12 results
