Copywriter For Marketing Brochure :

** The Business Development International Liaison (BDIL) unit in the HSRC has 2 distinct functions in the HSRC.

** We are primarily responsible for building, developing and maintaining key partnership both nationally and internationally.
** Through our engagement with partners and the utilisation of strategic opportunities we profile the HSRC and our research outputs.

** A dedicated team of three staff members provide funding and proposal support to the research programmes.
** The Business Development and International Liaison Unit based in the Office of the CEO, urgently seeks to appoint a copywriter.

Key responsibilities:
** Rewrite the current corporate brochure
** Position the HSRC in the corporate brochure as the preferred partner for social science research

Key requirements:
** 5-10 years proven experience in editing.
** Excellent grasp of English grammar, English syntax and general English usage.

** Proven experience in editing/proofreading/overwriting (see requirements for CV below)
** Proven work experience in and understanding of academia, research institutions, NGO/donor institutions and research funding/partnerships (see requirements for CV below)
** In your CV

** provide a list of a minimum of 10 publications you have edited/proofread/overwritten (state publisher & date of publication)
** briefly describe your work experiences in academia/research and/or fundraising and/or the NGO environment (include names of organisations and relevant dates)

** A major in English language/literature/linguistics or a tertiary qualification in any of the social- or health sciences and/or marketing would be an advantage but is not essential.
** The successful candidate should preferably be based in Cape Town as s/he may have to liaise closely with senior management based in the Cape Town HSRC offices.
