University of Fort Hare (UFH) Admission Entry Requirements

Undergraduate:
** To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:
** Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
** Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
** For more information on Undergraduate degree requirements please refer to the Study Guide.
** Declaration by Parent/Guardian for Minor Applicants must accompany all applications by prospective students under the age of 18.

Post Graduate:
The admission requirements for postgraduate study vary from one programme to another. You are advised to consult the Faculty directly in order to find out what is required for the course or degree that you want to take.

When Can I Apply?
UFH’s 2023 application cycle opens on 1 June 2022 and closes on the 31st October 2022

How Do I Apply?
** You can either click here to apply online (free) or download application forms from any one of the UFH campuses (charges R120.00 for South African Students and R500 for International Students).
** If you are currently in Grade 12, University of Fort Hare only accepts Grade 12 midyear results for provisional acceptance and final Grade 12 results for final acceptance
** Applicants writing the National Senior Certificate (NSC) through IEB or SACAI examining bodies can apply online by selecting “National Senior Certificate” under the Results Detail page of the online application process

Study Choices?
You are allowed to submit a maximum of two(2) choices for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies

Check Application Status?
Online applicants can check their statuses Online. They will be guided on how to create their pins and passwords during the Online application process.

Missing ID/Passport Copy?
No, you cannot apply without submitting a copy of your ID/Passport document. If you do, your application will be deemed incomplete cannot be processed.

Send Application Via Email?
No, you may not apply via email. Applicants are encouraged to apply online. Applicants who need to submit a hardcopy application form can submit their application form at any of the four UFH campuses or the application can be sent via post to the University
